WebFeb 4, 2011 · In Minneapolis Zone 6 my general contractor and his HVAC sub insist that the proper return vent location is high on the wall near the ceiling. This seems counterintuitive as heat rises wouldn’t I want the returns low to circulate. As the supply heat enter to room and rises the return vent would draw that warm air back down. WebThe high wall seems more practical due to It holding all the dirt and liquid within the mat, but my concern is that those walls will eventually collapse and be all wobbly and be falling, compared to the low wall I don't have to worry about that but then I do have to worry about the liquids and dirt falling onto the carpets.
